When you are marching out into your backyard foam battles, it is important to have the right equipment. Though you will not need the same protective gear with Nerf guns as you do with paintball guns, having the right guns and the right ammo is a key if you want to be the champion of the neighborhood.

Thankfully, outfitting yourself with the best that Nerf has to offer won’t break the bank. Most Nerf guns are affordable and make great Christmas or birthday presents. If you are looking for the ultimate Nerf gun this season, look for further than the Nerf N-Strike Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 Dart Blaster.

The N-Strike holds a silhouette that should look familiar to fans of old gangster movies. It has a clip on drum barrel that gives it the look and operation of a Tommy gun. A drum barrel is a cylindrical barrel that clips to the side of the N-Strike. As the interior of the barrel rotates, all the ammunition in the barrel comes out and can be fired in a little as five seconds.

This is pretty amazing for a manpowered Nerf toy, especially when you see that a full N-Strike barrel holds thirty five rounds of ammunition. Most Nerf guns only hold only five or six pieces of ammunition at a time, so immediately should notice a difference in your backyard battles. While everyone else is running around, collecting their ammunition, you can keep firing at will.

The N-Strike not only holds a lot of ammunition in its drum barrel, but it comes with even more ammunition. Included in the box with the gun is one hundred pieces of ammunition. Even counting the ammo that inevitably gets lost in the bushes and trees, you still will have significantly more ammunition than that competition. Hasbro has also been running some promotions that allow you to receive an extra fifty rounds in the mail if you send in your proof of purchase.

With the combination of a Tommy gun barrel that holds thirty five rounds and the extra sixty five rounds you get on the side, you and your Nerf N-Strike should be nearly invincible.
